Hill Rag Masked Photo Contest Winner Portraits

Update: Hill Rag Photo contest winner ~ Leanna ~ and her portraits ~ the grand prize for submitting the winning photo.

Leanna asked to have her portrait taken in the Sherwood Recreational facility gardens that she tends ~ one with a mask and one without. Look for her portrait to appear in the November Hill Rag.

Hi Karin, I have shown my prize to a number of people and they have all raved about what you have magically created for me. Thank you again, Leanna

For many years now, Tom sends a Bi-Weekly newsletter to friends and family. This is how the next one starts out:

From Sunday (10/4) until Friday (10/11) there was nothing to write about for those days with one exception: Leanna posed among the flowers in the Sherwood Garden for her portrait by Karin Edgett, the prize for winning the mask contest. Shortly thereafter she received her portrait by email.

Karin is also preparing another version of Leanna without the mask. I like the one with the mask because it adds another “pandemic photo” to our collection. Leanna also likes this one because she says it hides her wrinkles. I guess we should call the artist, Dr. Edgett for her ability to do floral plastic surgery.

Dear Leanna, this is your portrait with St. John's Wort that came from a garden nearby. A protection shield and access point to cosmic light. You can read stories about St. Johns Wort being the essence that caused the light of Jesus himself to be recognized. I let the flower pick you as your personal prayer before I read up on its historical magic.

The stamen of the St. John’s Wort forms a tiara ~ perhaps you are a princess now!

Thank you again for participating in this process. It is my way of inviting in more joy ~ and a new consciousness ~ so we can transform this sweet existence of ours into something truly wonderful for all of us. It's supposed to be easy!

Hill Rag Masked Photo Contest ~

Above are two Flower Alchemized portraits of me (Karin Edgett) by Maria Helena Carey, local photographer and photo blogger.

If you would to help from a professional ~ she will shoot a socially distanced portrait with her long lenses and keen sense of style. Of course, I had on a plain mask. Not exactly fun or funny. Direct message her on Instagram #themadammeow

Flower Alchemy is the merging of the energy of flowers with the energy of others. Their colors, designs and essences, are gifts to us all, to bring peace, harmony and the energy necessary to help transcend whatever comes our way. These flower images have been taken in 2020 throughout the DC area.

To see a show of 35 Flower Alchemy images, visit my current display in the windows of 605 Pennsylvania Ave SE.
