Food Pantry Painting ~ Blessing Box
Watch the story on Fox Channel 5, Sunday August 15th, 8:20 am.
Patrick McClintock is a local consciousness and community advocate. He brought the first food panty, he calls a Blessing Box, to Capitol Hill and is now unveiling his second one, painted by yours truly.
The Blessing Box gives a place for people to give and take canned and dry good foods and other household sundries. A free neighborhood exchange. The Blessing Box slogan is “take what you need ~ give what you can”.
The plain metal box to house the second Blessing Box needed color and Patrick asked me to paint the box with my positive energy art work. I chose a direction from my Truth series, where circular whimsical shapes and high vibration of the color pink to set the welcoming tone for wholeness and community.
This Blessing Box is located at 16th and D Streets SE on the side yard of the Vineyard Baptist Church. It was paid for in part by a generous donation by the Capitol Hill Village.
